Ruth and Sarah were married on Friday 22nd June 2012 at Bristol Zoo Pavilions in Clifton.
It’s been a while since I last worked at Bristol Zoo and I was really looking forward to working their again. I started with Ruth and Sarah’s preparations (they were getting ready separately with their best ladies) before going onto Bristol Zoo where their whole day was being held. They had a lovely ceremony which was refreshing as often civil partnerships can come across too legal, rather than a happy loving occasion!
Shortly after the ceremony we got on with the formal groups… sadly the weather wasn’t behaving and they were mostly taken inside. Luckily once the rain had stopped, the rest of the day was lovely.
After the wedding breakfast we took advantage of the good weather and quiet Zoo (by this time it was closed to the public) and had a nice casual walk around capturing some fantastic shots. Ruth and Sarah had a brilliant sense of humour and it was great fun capturing them doing various funny things like their T-Rex impressions! equally they were great to work with for the more serious, loving shots… they were both naturals in front of the camera!
For me the day came to an end shortly after their first dance and I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed shooting their wedding. Having gone through their shots, I am delighted with the results… Ruth and Sarah has already seen them and said they are ‘amazing’ 🙂
Here’s a little preview of their fantastic day…
